Everyone complaining about the changes to combat RMT and Cheating - these 'fixes' are SUPPOSED to be bandaids!

People have been constantly bitching about the changes: I don't think people realize that the reason it's done in this manner is it's supposed to be band-aid.
It's not nearly as simple to address with complex, intricate solutions as people think.
This thread is what inspired this post, but there are, of course, MANY others.
(Btw if that fucking automod pops up and goes like 'hurr durr the only official way to report cheating is on the forums' I'm gonna neck a fool)

Proposed Solutions by the Community

"people are abusing keytools, SICC cases and such to give buyers multiple high-value keys and bitcoins. perhaps there should be flagging of such accounts that regularly hand out items of these values in tandem with things like extremely high K/D ratios and rapidly increasing net worth."
It's not as simple to 'flag' accounts as people think. It takes time and development resources away from other areas. Despite this, they are working on it.
That's why:
NAH DROP THE KEY VENDOR PRICES LMAO
was done. It's an easy to implement band-aid solution. Only takes a few minutes of dev time and hits the means they are using to RMT so that they buy themselves more time.
And realistically these changes aren't fucking up your average player.
"guns like this (VSS/AS VAL) excel at short ranges, where a majority of Tarkov fights tend to occur. given that there's a large variety of firearms in the game, especially those designed for longer ranges, where fog of war and random clutters of items end up making them pretty much useless in the game. perhaps we could open sightlines a bit to give all firearms situational usage (to a reasonable extent)?"
It's almost like the fog was implemented because of massive stuttering. Tarkov already is CPU and GPU intensive. It's in progress of being optimized, but one of the easiest and most effective solution is to add 'fog' inside, to basically cover up that shit isn't being rendered past your fog line.
Even though that's the case, there's STILL loads of scenes in the current maps where there's large open areas. Namely, woods. But woods suck, precisely because of how barren it is. Trees everywhere. Nothing everywhere.
NAH BUFF PRAPOR'S SELLING PRICE LMAO
It adds additional cost to running it. Remember, this is a numbers game. I bet you also didn't realize that they nerfed the natural spawn rate of VSS/AS VAL? They're trying to reduce the number in circulation and allow other options to be viable because they're so much cheaper for similar effectiveness. It's called simulating a dynamic economy.
on that note: boss/raider AI
"hey, people are cheesing these raiders and Killa and such with easily exploitable sightlines and hitstun mechanics that make what should be formidable opponents absolutely trivial, but they also do dumb manuevres eg. powersliding into an RPK burst that seem out of line in a realistic FPS, on top of things like arbitrary health buffs. maybe we should make them not so easy to cheese by changing their AI to be more hard, but fair instead of a drugged-up T-800?"
lol because AI is so simple you can just hotfix it in right, it's not like it's literally one of the most complex problems in programming in its entirety and that every fps ever that has bots uses these same techniques to make them difficult through easy but artificial means. (Scaling aimbot, making them tankier, have vision of you, etc)
Basically: It's not that fucking simple. AI is hard. Real hard. If you knew the slightest thing about logic and programming you'd realize that it's almost impossible to create an AI that can actually learn from its circumstances. Instead, you just feed it information and it creates parallels and begins to assign responses, often with human direction, in response to certain behaviors. And that's intensive. And difficult. And not crazy effective.
Instead you basically hard-program their reactions to a handful of scenarios and then give him some artificial scaling to make them a challenge. It's much easier and better time-to-reward ratio.
you get my point. a lot of changes feel either totally arbitrary or don't quite get at fixing the base issue, and instead just push it further back while hurting regular players.
99% of these changes don't hurt the vast majority of players.
How often do you find TWO factory keys in a game? How often do you bring in over 200k roubles if you're not RMTing? How often, do you, the average player, seriously bring in an items case or weapons case to grab weapons? The only people I know of to do that are some streamers near end wipe.
These are SUPPOSED to be band-aids. They're TEMPORARY yet mostly effective solutions while they spend time to create more advanced and specific solutions to counter the cheating and the need that fuels it - RMTing.
So stop your bitching and realize that BSG aren't idiots. They're doing what they can, the best they can, in a really hard scenario and trying to tackle problems that most other developers never address.

Homelab collective ressources post!

Hey guys!
I'm fairly new to this sub and to having a home lab in general and I found this community to be so kind and helping, I wanted to give back what I've learned. I'm seeing a lot of questions asked around on improvements and on what to do with x extra hardware so I thought it would be nice to have a thread to regroup that.

I'll put here some stuff I gathered and the most common questions I've seen, feel free to contribute and i'll update the post along.

2x vs Cash... Did you forget who the enemy is? Do you know what happens when you make a deal with the devil?

I know that some people here will disagree with this, but hear me out and lets have a rational discussion, the kind that is banned from /bitcoin.
I've seen a lot of people advocating for 2x to fail to give BCC a boost. Stop and think - When you advocate that, you are literally taking the same side as Core + Theymos. Why would they and you advocate the same things?
Because they have the ecosystem. If they can kill of 2x, they keep most of the ecosystem and Cash has to build from scratch. The median over the last 7 days was 10k BCC transactions per day. Ethereum was over 350k, Bitcoin was ~280k. Those numbers are not in the same ball park. Yes, the price is rising and so are transactions, and actually that gives me a lot of hope I never really had for BCH before, but you can't lose sight of the cold hard reality.
The markets don't decide on philosophy. That's why we want the markets to make these decisions, not programmers in basements or trolls on the internet. But if the only two options that I(and others) have is between SmallBlockExtremistCoin and BigBlockExtremistCoin and the big blocks doesn't have the ecosystem built by Bitpay, Coinbase, and 7 years of our hard work? I'm not going to choose either, because those aren't the only two choices I have.
Yes, if 2x died it would be a boost to BCH, and I get it - many of you are heavily invested in BCH and have little in BTC now. But shake the fog from your eyes and look at the bigger picture.
If you want 2x to die prematurely, you're not only advocating the same things as Theymos, Maxwell, Todd, BashCo, and Luke-Jr, you're guaranteeing that /btc remains the minority sub for the forseeable future and that the small blockers still have a seat at the table - maybe even the most seats. Imagine if 2x succeeds and Core forks for a PoW change. Here's what we'd get:
  1. The Core Devs will fragment because few of them are willing to be that extreme and push the minority chain. While they may have some shit theories about economics, many of them have very valuable experience and knowledge regarding Bitcoin's code and cryptography. The fragments will shift to BCC and 2x. Maxwell, Todd, and Luke will either stick with tinyCoin or quit entirely.
  2. All the smallblockers will sell their BCC and BTC to prop up their minority fork. The winning fork of the three will successfully reduce the influence of ALL OTHER EXTREMISTS. Meaning... No more small blocker influence on Bitcoin, ever, because they won't own any.
  3. /btc will become the de-facto primary forum and source of information for Bitcoin. /bitcoin will be dedicated to tinyCoin fork.
If 2x were to fail prematurely, BCH would get a small boost, but the small blockers would still own bitcoin and still continue to control and trash the ecosystem.
Now think about it. Who are your true allies? Is it Garzik, Andresen, Bitpay, Coinbase, Bitmain, Jihan, and Roger? Or is it Theymos, Maxwell, Todd, BashCo, and Luke-Jr?
What was Theymos' stunt today regarding BitPay and bitcoin.org REALLY about? Bitpay isn't going to be affected, they probably get almost no traffic and no customers from bitcoin.org anymore. They're huge. Theymos' stunt on bitcoin.org wasn't about BitPay, it was a message to all of the smaller businesses who get a non-trivial influx of new customers from Core/Theymos-controlled websites. And small businesses may not be able to afford to stand up to Theymos' garbage the way BitPay and Coinbase can.
If 2x is going to fail, let it fail in free competition. 2x and BCC are on the same side of this war. We have a different idea about how to get to the goal, but we have the same end goals. Never forget your allies. No one makes a deal with the devil and walks away the winner.

Sheep market bothers me.

The more I think about sheep, and how they don't have a tumbler, the more worried I get about it. They are pretty much a carbon copy of SR, yet have never heard of, or plan, to use a tumbler?
First off, the name sheep; we are being herded into the arms of LE. Any one remember that online forum the secret service hosted for several months? The ones about carding? They took down some major players in the con game with that one. I feel like sheep is phase 2 of operation: "ruin everyone's weekend," and that's where they nab the major vendors. I keep picturing a bunch of cops giggling at themselves because "these stupid drug dealers are dumb enough to use a drug market named "sheep."
if sheep was le, could it still be used if all info was encrypted? Is there anyway for le to discover information about the user, if the user never makes anything known?
another thing is the whole "no good at English" thing. You develop a fuckng website for English use, yet can't bother to find someone to look over it? Naaa. Bullshit.
I feel like alot more vendors are headed to sheep, but I don't want to jump off a cliff because the sheep in front led the way.
I know this; vendors, do not link any bitcoin that passes under the nose of sheep market with anything that can tie you to the coins. IE; coin base verified account. When you cash out, if sheep was LE, they could see the bitcoins they tagged, go from you, to a verifed account, and then cashed out. All they would need to do, is ask coinbase "who cashed out these coins" and boom, investigation started.
Here is a brilliant idea for anyone looking to start up a service. Start a tumbler service. Bitcoin fog sucks, and is usually always down.

Memantine Risks and Drawbacks, and a Few Other Questions

Can any informed folks comment on the risks and drawbacks of taking Memantine, giving preference to empirical data and scientifically reasoned theory over personal anecdotes? I'm interested in using Memantine to reduce my tolerance to caffeine, theobromine, and -racetams. I understand that some use Memantine to recover from dopamine-receptor downregulation following use of much harder stimulants--amphetamines, methylphenidate, etc.--but I'm more interested in using it to re-sharpen the effects of milder substances (mostly caffeine, phenylpiracetam, and pramiracetam), which after several months of moderate to heavy use just aren't as potent for me. I'd take a break to cycle these things, but the hectic and unpredictable nature of my schedule doesn't always allow consistent windows of sufficient duration. (If you're interested in exactly what I've been using, see the bottom of my post.)
I've read plenty of great things about Memantine from users of this board and Longecity, including the extensive and esteemed commentaries of MisterYouAreSoDumb. And I've heard about the minor drawbacks, such as the need to slowly titrate doses to avoid incapacitating brain fog, as well as a few anecdotes about how Memantine made some folks anxious or dysfunctional (e.g., BitcoinOperatedGirl). However, I've also come across a few references that have made me a bit more skittish to try it. For example:
-In one post, which I think was on Reddit but which I can't seem to locate right now, a user mentioned that a neuroscientist described Memantine as "poisonous" to healthy brains; I think the idea he intended to communicate is not that Memantine is toxic, but that it can inhibit learning, as described in the next point. Nevertheless, it's slightly unsettling to hear a professional take that kind of stance. Thoughts?
-In a mice study, Memantine reduced neuroplasticity. I've read some explanations of why this might be: Because it is a non-competitive antagonist of different nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (e.g., the alpha7 nAchR implicated in memory), Memantine reduces memory formation during the period preceding responsive upregulation of those receptors. I've also read that reduced NMDA activity may lead to pruning of neural pathways, and that could lead to longer-term losses of neuroplasticity. A relevant post with a study is here: http://www.reddit.com/Nootropics/comments/20xljh/memantine_consensus/cg7ozci . I can accept the first explanation as a short-term cost to consequent increased receptor efficacy, but is anybody concerned with the second explanation, regarding pruning? If one were to maintain relatively short, sporadic Memantine courses, rather than indefinite use, do you think this concern would be minimalized?
-A commenter on one forum, http://www.bluelight.org/vb/threads/733142-Fasoracetam-and-gaba-receptor-recovery , stated: "Also many believe dxm memantine etc dramatically improve their brains...and or prevent tolerance... Antagonism leads to increased Receptor synthesis in order to normalize the antagonism. If you stop them then there are excess receptors that were actively being used but now many are phosphorylation and worthless as they can bind the drug ligand but they cannot complete the signal cascade because the phosphorylation enzyme or Receptor drug complex cannot transfer the phosphoryl group easy and also because the transferee is down regulated as a result of high demand for this. Effectively leading to inability to recycle these through endocytotic means." I have no idea how credible this poster is, and I'm conscious of the character of the board that it comes from, but I'm unfamiliar enough with phosphorylation and receptors that I couldn't personally assess his comments' validity. (A quick review of Wikipedia entries on receptor phosphorylation didn't help resolve this.) I think that what he's trying to say through some of the rough grammar is that there could be is that certain substances--possibly including Memantine--affect cells' ability to recycle receptors, leading to an ultimate cognitive detriment. Can anyone more educated on these matters help me understand whether this concern is well founded?
Setting those points aside, can anybody comment how long they believe a Memantine course should last for moderate tolerance resetting? Possibly two or three weeks, taking the first few days to titrate with 2.5 mg daily doses, then building up to 5 mg, and later 10 mg daily doses? Or is that too short short a period and too small a dose size? What about a different dosing strategy: 10 mg on Fridays, riding out that eighty-hour half-life and accepting reduced cognition on the weekends for stronger early and mid-week performance?
I know this is a long post, but I'd appreciate hearing from anybody who can comment on any part of it. If it's useful to anyone, below I describe my stack strategies.
I work on very dry, technical, tedious material for many hours per day, and I rely on legal, non-prescription stimulants to help me get through it efficiently. I've thus developed a stimulant cycle that was intended to help me avoid tolerance by spacing out substances with similar mechanisms of action, though the strict spacing is controlled somewhat by my work needs. Nevertheless, over a period of several months and without as many weekends as I'd have liked to help my body relax and recuperate, some degree of tolerance has occurred with each substance I use. My cycling schedule goes something like this:
-Monday: Caffiene via 1/2 tablespoon matcha green tea (yes, I know that's a lot, and variable); small coffee boost in afternoon if necessary
-Tuesday: Phenylpiracetam 150 mg in the morning, and if it's a crazy day, 80 mg caffeine + green tea-catechins pill
-Wednesday: Oxiracetam 750 mg in each of the morning and afternoon
-Thursday: Homebrew CILTEP (misnomer or not, I'm referring to 4 mg forskolin + 500 mg artichoke extract + 500 mg L-tyrosine) and 1/2 tablespoon matcha
-Friday: Yohimbine HCL 7.5 mg (bad for mental focus and very anxiogenic, but highly motivating and good if I have to do physical labor like cleaning; also good for socializing)
-Saturday: Raw cacao powder 50 cc scoop (supplying theobromine and PEA; overall, it's a feel-good, energizing supplement that abates caffeine withdrawals, lowers blood pressure, improves sociability, and supplies a hefty dose of magnesium--however, because it's primarily active in the PNS, rather than the CNS (like caffiene is), it's less good for focus and better for physical tasks, like yohimbine)
-Sunday: Same as Saturday, adding yohimbine HCL if I need to run a ton of errands or get a lot of non-mental work done.
On Mondays through Fridays, I take 300 mg pramiracetam in the mornings. I occasionally cycle some noopept (10 mg sublingual twice daily) if I need to learn a lot of material or won't be getting much sleep. Theanine 200 mg up to twice daily, as needed. Dailies: Creatine HCL 750 mg, multivitamin, fish oil 2g, resveratrol+curcumin+silymarin+astragalus supplement, uridine monophosphate (250 mg sublingual twice daily), bacopa monnieri 300 mg, agmatine 500 mg, alpha gpc 300 mg, ALCAR (1g w/ sodium in the morning on empty stomach, 1g in afternoon if necessary), and inositol 500 mg. I'm experimenting w/ 25 mg forskolin per day (which I'd previously only used in low doses for CILTEP), for potential trkB upregulation. Aniracetam 750 mg once or twice per week as needed. Full-spectrum B vitamin in the afternoon, as needed. Rare use of fasoracetam, coluracetam, and vinpocetine. Magnesium L-threonate if I'm having a heavy caffeine day or I'm not getting enough from my diet that day. Rare use of huperzine A 50 micrograms. Hydrafinil 50 mg no more than twice per week if I'm sleep-deprived. I plan on doing a monthly centrophenoxine cycle (250 mg twice daily) every few years. I just obtained some ephedrine (via Bronkaid), which I expect to function similarly to yohimbine, being anxiogenic but a good fat burner and PNS activator for motivation to do physical labor. An excellent, well-balanced diet that reduces processed foods and fuels my need for about 3,500 calories per day, due to daily weight lifting and running.
All of this leads to a very effective me: Highly focused, even on insanely boring material; an excellent memory, which often recalls where I read material spatially on the pages in which it appeared; and generally highly motivated, with occasional euphoria and even grandiosity. The only problem with my regime is that I'm experiencing diminishing returns these days, leading to my investigation of Memantine. Of course, some of this makes it tough to sleep, so I use melatonin sublingual .5 mg, kava kava root extract, anticholinergics (doxlyamine sucinate and diphenhydramine) only on days when my acetylcholine is way too high to sleep, bacopa, theanine, agmatine, a sleeping mask, and ear plugs. I still need to look into nootropic meditation and TULIP, the latter of which I find much more interesting following Gwern's investigations.
Edit: Tried to improve formatting, but Reddit wouldn't allow me to increase paragraph spacing.

On the final day of the conference, Swarm’s cofounder Joel Dietz and CEO Philipp Pieper tag-teamed a stellar presentation in the Speaker Hall. Joel and Philipp shared the history of how they met, and the storyline also featured a man from the future, glowing robots on stilts, and fog guns. You know, just typical Miami things.
Swarm CEO Philipp Pieper gave the crowd a preview of the Swarm Platform - the first securities token marketplace! Also, we're not fond of middlemen.
Swarm's head of AI, Frank Taylor, gave a talk on AI on the blockchain, and previewed our AI roadmap.

A year of shitposting

Since I'll stop funposting, I made a selection of my favorite posts.

#0 /ComedyCemetery — It's funny because sex

Comment

My first downvotes beyond a few points, completely by mistake. I used to post in much smaller and internet-savy communities in which people were easily able to detect irony and humor, which on reddit would get interpreted as a cringy way of posting. That's what happened here. I was surprised by how the hivemind on reddit worked, so I thought to learn more about it and have fun with it.

Post

Before criticizing it, you have to know that there's a whole fanbase that ships those two and for good reasons. Or rather half of them are good, the other ones are basically "cuz' it's cute/hot". Which isn't too invalid either since appropriation of cultural products are common place, and if you've read major works in literature you should know what I mean, it's basically fanfics of fanfics all the way down. I should add shipping is fun because it uses the basic tension at the heart of any romance, that is, trying to fit together two characters that have some potential chemistry but also face obstacles because of external factors or individual traits, and Elsa/Anna fits this bill.
Anyway, I digress, the good reasons are that, perhaps by coincidence, Elsa's story can very easily be read as a symbolic story of a coming out. Sure if you aren't used to lesbian media this might seem like over-analyzing, but if you don't want to go down that rabbit hole, just trust me: Frozen in many aspects just looks like it's heavily loaded with subtext. Could be a huge coincidence. But still, it's no wonder a fanbase formed around shipping Anna and Elsa and there was a little while ago people to ask Disney to officially make Elsa a lesbian.
So now, this picture. I could have been good, as it trivializes as much as possible that whole shipping business, almost ironically even. Problem is, it seems to buildup to a punchline, like a really good one, but then instead abruptly ends in the most unimpressive way.
Conflict of interest disclosure: I hold no share in the Elsa/Anna fanbase, I'm just a exterior observer who tried to understand what the heck was going on with all those pictures shipping two girls from a recent Disney movie.

#1 /SubRedditDrama — "Response from Twitch" to Yandere Simulator Dev. Popcorn so sweet it can kill

Oh damn, I never thought I'd hear about him again, I know that guy! It was a while ago, I was posting on a now defunct anime RP forum, it had a really great vip section where we could let our imagination actually run wild. See, most RPs fora are pretty restricted in what they allow even just to stay on a certain theme, but there it was a mix of everything crazy, but we could make subcommunities which they called "villages" much like reddit so it kinda sorted itself out. I made a yuri village there because other forums had banned me for ridiculous reasons, and it turned out great, this guy helped me understand how stuff worked there and participated regularity (it's just RP, doesn't matter who you actually are), and I could finally RP with more interesting stuff such as sadism or nonconventional relationships, like, I discovered that some people are shunned because they are supposedly in "abusive" relationships but when you talk to them you realize that's just what they want and they're happy like that, or how some other people are attracted to children and they're not that horrible I mean why discriminate based on age, I also felt attraction to younger girls sometimes and I'm not crazy nor violent it was only really once I squished that bird to death I was young okay I was discovering the world and I taught me how death looked like which we tend to forget in today's oversheltered society we are afraid of the big bad pedophile, the rapist, abusive husbands/wives but it's just fear of the Other, we shame pedophiles or so-called abusive relationships like we once shamed black people so shut the fuck up and stop talking to me through electromagnetic waves about what I do all the time it's wearing me out and that's what made me violent in the past 'kay my cat told me you just relay the devil's messages and it's always given me good advice.
Anyway we really connected and we created incredible stories you'd never read in today's books we dreamed of a freer society were we could be free to experiment at whatever age with our bodies violently or not, and we both new death was just a step in the life of our inner mind, so we were cool about writing about how love and death are like opposite but complementary forces in the universe, we wrote 1M+ words I think. We tried to make people we knew understand and discover this world we were discovering, like other people did in the past but we were rejected and we agreed to meet to discuss how to improve our strategy but he wanted more I told him I didn't like guys romantically but he didn't cared and came with his scalpel he used on him to feel closer to the universe's fundamental principles to try to make me understand even though I told him I wasn't ready for that yet he insisted and thought it was a good idea to teach me his most radical take on pain and tried to slip the scalpel in my pants so I could feel its edge deep inside me but I managed to free myself before he went further than the inner labia and when I woke up from my black out there was blood everywhere and he was lying on the ground so I got the fuck out of there mostly unharmed and got home and finished writing my slash fanfic about Sailor Moon and her mother.
Ha, this thread really takes me back! My teenage years were a wild ride.

Hi I'm Veronica and I worked at a glory hole for 1 year to pay my for my chicken nuggets and two macbooks, and I can tell you I know a lot about people who suck. It was my job to screen participants, I've learned how they look. They look like levitating vegetables — potatoes, salad, beans, tomatoes — with weird excrescences and old scars from birds pecking them; they had their brains stolen by the giant plant they were now attached to and dependent upon. As they said "hi Veronica, how are you today?" I couldn't help but shiver, they thought I was pro, I was actually afraid it'd happen to me. I noticed my friends had started looking a little like them, they brain connected to the plant by an almost invisible branch. They say it doesn't exist, but when I try to remove it they get aggressive and say I don't understand and should let them be free.
But they aren't. I routinely look in the mirror to find anything weird, but so far I haven't noticed anything vegetable-like on me. I've noticed children miss this branch in their head. Maybe that means I'm too immature, like my friends say? Yet, I've seen at the glory hole how dangerous the Plant could be: people who sucked and got sucked were sucked into a factory-like process, and the more they went back for more the more they were like the others. Those with the wrong excrescences weren't taylorized, but they Plant still tighten its grip on them until they were vegetables too, albeit weirdly shaped ones. Not to much this, more of that, but no one could actually reach the perfect vegetable form, they were still humans at heart, I could see it beating although they pretended they didn't need one.
This morning I looked into the mirror and saw an abnormal strand of hair. Is that it? Am I going to be like them too? Just after I finally bought some happiness by going to the hair-dresser and got my nails done like my friends advised me — I looked down, but in reality I'm deadly afraid of that Plant, it's eating their lives only to excrete babies and income inequalities. I wonder what my new boyfriend — my first! — would think of that, I don't want to show him i'm also fallen, dirty human.

that's real funny, really fitting for /funny I guess, but you might never now who is reading what you post and what impact in can have on them. Though this one time you'll know: I left my dad's house when I was 15 because I felt his teaching of Wicca wouldnt lead me anywere anymore and I had hidden from my parents for too long who I truly was, as I always made sure to dispose properly of the animals I killed. After wandering in the rural west of the US for weeks (I hitchhiked and found a really nice group of friends who took me without asking questions), I finally found someone who could immediatly see my hidden side and took me as his student in his woods (in retrospect I don't think they were his). In Wicca we don't really deal with darker natural forces, only how to repel them, and I knew I was basically made to ignore what I truly where and this guy taught me that whatever path in life I choose I couldn't progress without giving in at least once to my demonic heritage. Everything went back to me, how at 7 I enjoyed putting a needle through that bird's head, or how me and 19560 — my astral pet cat I found at 10 — laughed when threw red hot iron balls at squirrels, and boy, I actually loved it. The day after he taught me his sex offender and child predator tricks, that asshole pretended he could show me a neat ritual for chanelling sexual energy into spells for greater efficiency, told me to close my eyes and pretended what I'd feel on my cheeks would be a side effect of using more energy than usual but LIKE FUCK DAMN it was his fucking DICK. Long story short, my demonic side took over and he certainly won't have any children. I still learned a lot, got to know myself a lot better and choose the path of love and justice, but that's still a traumatic experience that reminds me of how enjoyable it was to inflict pain to living things, and I don't like that that's no twhat i want i choose another path.
Anyway, be careful about what you say, it can be hurtful and dangerous.

No we don't and it's mean to scare ppl for NO reason but personally, although I admit it might sound a bit naive to redditors , its not really constructive to publicly tear down ppl like that someone could find that post here ( reddit isn't exactly unknown and what we say here has consequences in the real word ) and it could hurt his friends or family to see him criticized like that . I agree he's doing something bad but wouldn't it be better to talk with him first in private and actually change his mind instead of posting and mocking people? hates brings more hate to the world and makes it an unbearable place and then hurt ppl will seek protection to the first person who appears to care for them even if their a potential dictator (i dont want to say those who voted for him are stupid but its clear they were manipulated and they wont get any advantages out of the situation and everyone else is scared)
Just some thoughts I wanted to write, sowwy for the length guys you can get back to reading more funny comments 😉

This is sad that couldn't ,see her like I do 🤔 I find her cute either way 😘, or even more when she's authentic. I do think with all my ❤️ that we can get , to see people's appearance as attractive as if it set its own standards of beauty. I don't know if u see what I mean? It's like ,you don't judge art with a restricted, immobile ,set of criteria , each piece defines its own world and standards 😋. sum ppl weren't happy about impressionists in painting or serialists in music because it wasn't supposedly "art" but it turns out if your listen/look carefully ,,you can appreciate those and learn something. I hope I'm not being too patronizing 😓 sorry if it looks like it but i have something really important to say and I think it could make everyone's life better, so please read until the end! Okay, so, maybe its because Im a lesbiun👩‍❤️‍👩,,and I don't mean that in a antagonizing way we can all get along okay 😇 i think i have an interesting perspective for men here (I assume you are excuse me if im wrong but most readers are ] Anyway all I wanted to say is that i found that most women who 💕 women are more able 2 appreciate unconventional beauty and mainstream standards of beauty r clearly too restrictive and hurtful ; you know there'll always be beautiful women on one side, and the ugly one on the other side of the continuum and a large chunk of the population will feel hurt even if a little every day .But if we tried to put the effort into seeing people appearance standing as their own standard well i think we can all be happier, both when we are judged for our look and when we are judging cauz' will find more people attractive💕💕
edit: hehe hopes it wasnt too long 😆😅 sowy

Well, I don't want to be uselessly spiteful, but I think their family is dysfunctional and my cousin has a serious problem and needs a psychologist's help , I saw him catching feral cats and huh god this is horirblie to tepy i think he dissects them for fun 🤢 pretending it's for teaching ugh... anyway, it may sound idealistic but I want to repair his mistakes even on the internet so even if that's not really ethical to use someones info and i'm not really good with computers anyway i had a friend check it because i know he programs and maybe put some security on it log keystrokes or self-destruct the battery pack i dunno he told me it seems fine its a "dabian linix" he said i think anyway sowwy it's too long but hey not everyone is out there to get you 😃 dont end up like my cousin pls

#7 /anime — [Spoilers] Alice to Zouroku - Episode 3 discussion

I live in the south and there's no lesb dating scene, the only females I see are the old laddies blabbering about Jesus, my dad's cows, my sister and the kids at school. Anime has been my only comfort and honestly I've ended up being a huge weeb, but I've been afraid recently of my sexual frustration and this kind of stuff doesn't help, I want to feel a young girl's soft cheeks on my inner tights, her breath on my lips... I've had recently the same vivid dream about being a loli a martial arts club with other cute girls and the "training" often devolves into sexual intimacy, but last night I was dreaming I was doing a leg lock on my dream-waifu, and it was unusual she had a lot more trouble breathing, but as I woke up I saw I forgot I was actually sleeping with my sister and I've been basically facefucking her. Breakfast was awkward but maybe she wasn't hungry because she ate too much pussy but anyway long story short my parents confiscated my yuru yuri nendoroids. So yeah, I think Alice to Zouroku is awful and a bad influence on young people's minds.

#9 /pics — Korean crow tit. Looks like a snowball

hihihi i get that a lot from my girlfriend, she's awesome and cute and has a soft flat chest, but she feels bad about it so I sent her this picture I'm not sure she understood it, but yeah basically she loves softly rising my round birds, maybe she's jealous? or she's trying to not get bored of her own body, she doesn't like it it's like noise she says. She reminds me of a loli, i haven't told her but i watched a lot of perverted anime back in the days when birds when singing in my mind, but nowadays she infected me with her fog and now the birds are gone and i feel bad for everything even my love for very young girls although it was pure and never translated to breaking their bodies made of glass. maybe i should buy cat ears and try to communicate with our cat to get a better point of view instead of going on reddit
Edit: I love cats they're like little girls

#10 /pics — Kids today...

You people should really stop making fun of legitimate issues, 11203 women are raped each day in alaska and yes this is clearly a war on women, I don't know how else you'd call that. Or are you in denial like the Japanese, who, I remind you, routinely consume pedophilic media and fetishize submissive behavior disguised as cuteness. Those people are really disgusting to be frankly tbh, I don't know why we still consider them as part of the developed world, they don't even understand christmas' meaning they think it's KFC day. I bet you're also a racist fuck like the Japanese and routinely post on alt-right boards.
Anyway, happy Christmas to all women around the world!
Edit: I see the Japanese Cabal of reddit has decided to downvote me en masse; too bad it only proves my point.

#11 /AskWomen — Attractive women with ugly friends, how does your ugly friend get treated different?

this might sound weird but you should try gettin into the 💗👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩💗 lesbian 💗👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩💗 community we don't behave like that, and I know many str8 women aren't actually str8 they're just a bit slow

#12 /ColorizedHistory — U.S. Army military policemen toasting bread over molten lava from Vesuvius - March 18, 1944

#13 /gaming — I beat Pikmin 3 without losing a single Pikmin!

Yeah, I loved it too, in fact I was a fan and collected merchandise my parents and friends thought i was going through a phase a regression into childhood while actually I was repressing my sexual urges and as strange as it sounds I fantasized about pikmins, like they'd crawl all over me and inside my vagina, how I'd have a preferred one i'd carry in my panties throughout the day, found that idea really hot so when I got my first figurine I tried shoving it in, and long story short having to go to a gynecologist for the subsequent infection made me stop my descent into madness

#15 /teenagers — My mom just looked at a coat that was 50% off.

oh my god r u 76yo why r u on dis sub
mmh ok ill explain XD
nowadays teenagers are on snapshat alot and our bodies are more than ever the substratum of the intentional force in our speech acts
interacting with ppl on the webs is more involved that it ever was, using text is basically prehistoric
that's why we send nudes alot cuz our body isnt this private shameful thing anymore
i sent a bunch of nudes to my english teacher yesterday cuz she's so cute and we've been messaging back and forth and that's a snapshat streak it means it's get hot as af and thats why there's a flame emoji for streaks
the old social conventions are destroyed
technology is liberating us and sex, race, religion, age are just pointless social constructs we hook up with whoever we want because love is universal
that's waht a snapstreak means
it's the new world

#16 /cringepics — Girl wants beat up, guys agree

ヽ(`⌒´メ)ノ well okay it's fun to make fun of ppl like that but we tend to froget those pppl while they may look liek the typical privileged white male are actualy a dominated segmant of their in group and yeah their bound to say stupid things to get ppppl to like them and gain status in they're in group but their pppppl like us too they got feelings too (⊃。•́‿•̀。)⊃ I dont see the point have shaming them like you do on this board and I say that as a lesbian so I know what it is to be mocked for what you are

#17 /todayilearned — TIL that the famous female pirates Mary Read and Anne Bonny discovered each others' real genders (they were disguising themselves as men) when Bonny told Read that she was attracted to her, causing Read to reveal herself as a female as well

that reminds me of when I was playing disgaea (edit: the prinnies always use "dood", for "dude", when they talk) and couldn't further the story because once Flonne, the angel, showed up, I spent most of my time imagining taking her on a date, telling her I love her and shoving her face into my flower and feel her little wings softly rub on tights while I stroke her hair... teehee sowwy went back to those days for a few seconds there *looks around her* I hope my current anime girlfriend doesn't see this messages :$

#18 /FashionReps — THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT net neutrality will effect us and there voting week the government could block this community or charge us for viewing it would be great to call this number to try to stop. If this is not allowed sorry but this could strongly effect my rep fam

If people weren't bogged down by rationalism, this wouldn't be a problem. Net neutrality is about material things, but ideas and emotions are free; we can communicate them through words, but as many experiences have shown over and over, our minds extends further than our body. Open minded people can communicate directly, and it even happens sometimes without any training when two people love each other deeply. Because of hate and materialism, we think we need the internet to communicate without obstacles, but if you opened your mind your inner magic could flow freely and meld with the Earth's mana network and you could join us in the real noosphere.

as ive been trying to explain to this sub many times 😡 knowing whoseg fault it is isnt that easy
thats bcause of institutionalized racism 👮🏻👉🏻👩🏾 white ppl are part of a social system that advantages them so they dont have to worry about being killed at random by cops
ok its true that as a consequence that makes us more virtuous overall because we have to face greater challenges

Trolling the trolls

Post

Good riddance, you "downvote trolls" are just assholes randomly latching out at people and then pretending you're being clever and funny. You probably all voted Trump, right?
Edit: so I just got back from modding my airsoft gun (an Elite Force H&K G28 FDE, pricy but I can afford it thanks to buying bitcoins years ago, sorry for those who missed the train, but it's a major development of American Capitalism!) with a raspberry pi zero, nodejs and speakers so that it plays CS sound effects when I shoot, and all I see is bad faith and projection from deeply misguided people. I was like that years ago, bitter and sad, but thanks to the help of /nofap and /Christianity I shaved my beard, trimmed my nails, got a job, found a beautiful wife and had 3 beautiful children. Quit wasting your time on getting imaginary negative internet points and being mean to people, accept Jesus and help making America Great Again with love instead of fascism!

PSA: Do not use TorShops, EuCanna, Peoples Drug Store or EasyCoin wallet.

Figured I should lay some good ol' Tor justice smackdown on whoever this is. If you don't want to get into the juicy details just read the title and store it in your brain for future reference. This entire thing really fucking rustled my jimmies and I'm going to get it out there.
Earlier I received an e-mail from someone frantically encouraging me to take down TorShops off the Cleaned Hidden Wiki. They alleged that the vendor stole $500 from them and that he'd actually faked a ton of feedback across various sites and even came up with elaborate forums/communities as a part of the operation. I get these e-mails once a week - occasionally from a legit scam, occasionally from a competing vendor trying to tarnish another vendor's reputation. The entire thing seemed really far-fetched and complex and didn't scream "scam" by any measures to me. That's usually the most dangerous kind of scam though; the one that looks like it could easily pass as any legitimate marketplace and doesn't cause a second glance.
However, I decided to investigate. I remember this vendor sending me an e-mail a while back, so I cracked open TrueCrypt, searched around a bit for archived e-mails (I occasionally keep them when someone asks me to add something to CHW - can become useful in events like these), and finally found it. He'd asked me to add 3 different links to CHW - EuCanna, EasyCoin, and the actual TorShops site. This maybe should've sent alarm bells ringing (this wide of a variety of products is rare unless you have a whole team working on it). I thought nothing of it, the sites looked pretty fancied up and it likely took effort to build them so I didn't worry about it too much.
Fast forward a bit, I see TorShops advertising on reddit. Not odd at all, some reasonable site operators advertise here when they want to get the word out about a service.
Fast forward to today. I check out EasyCoin. I notice the banner at the top of the page - it advertises the clearnet URL and .onion URL. I check out the clearnet site.
This is what sent me for a loop. The banner at the top didn't include any .onion address. In fact, I found no sign of an .onion counterpart at all on the entire site. This happens with scams all the time. I remember a Bitcoin laundry that blatantly ripped off part of Fog's descriptions and a clearnet site's interface.
The reason why I included Peoples Drug Store. This thread. Site located at this URL.
All of these drug sites include escrow. The escrow is provided by the drug sites. All of these sites appear custom-made except for EasyCoin (which is where this scam artist dun fuck'd up).
Moral of the story: Trust NO ONE in Onionland. Never go by appearances alone. Use a guaranteed third party escrow that isn't affiliated with the vendor. Make reviews regarding vendors in Evil|Wiki's Reviews page. Always warn others if you come across a scam.
Good luck out there, it can be a dangerous place.

Please help, I cannot withdraw my money from Bitcoin-fog

Hello, I have tried to follow the guidance of the forums and internet searches regarding tumbling coins with bitcoin-fog and am stuck.
When I input my blockchain address from the receive money tab and the full amount in my bitcoin-fog account and hit "submit withdrawal" nothing happens. I have been trying off and on for a week. I have tried using 5% less than what is in my account in case the transaction fee was the problem. I have contacted support twice and not heard back. The total is displayed at the top by my username on bitcoin-fog currently, before and after trying to make a withdrawal. I have tried Firefox once and usually try with Tor Browser.

So it's definitely tough to say this stuff on the internet.

The internet is where everyone pwns everyone else, it seems. How much can you outdo someone else....
I got tired of "internet tough guys" giving me, and other shibes crap about dogecoin. It's great that some people made the right moves with BTC and made millions.
... That's no reason to rub it in our face. But I guess some folks get off on that.
A bit of backround. I, too, was 'semi' early in Bitcoin, around 2011. During that time life took a real turn for the worse. No, really.
Long story short, I got to witness my father committing suicide in 2012, shortly after my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimers. (Several years before, she was a successful computer programmer.)
Needless to say, things kind of spiraled. In a fog, I sold off 61 btc at $2 and 48btc at $7. Mostly to pay for the expenses incurred of 'disposing of a life that suddenly disappeared' and trying to get mine back on track. (If anyone has gone through a suicide or sudden death in the family, they'll understand what I mean. )
Yes, I sold during a crash. And the bitcoin "community" wasn't too sympathetic. "Sucks to be you", "More profit for us", etc. This made me really swear off crypto in general, for a while. Especially after BTC hit $1000, well, the math wasn't hard to do.
... Fast forward to Dogecoin.
A good way to get back into the whole crypto thing... It was mineable, it wasn't "heavy", I could fool around and talk about positive things. Which still, two years after the event(s), I desperately need. Doge was doing positive things, and Doge is friendly, it's welcoming, it's good.
Buuuut, then, of course, what happens but folks bent on "pissing in everyone else's kool aid" come in to make sure we don't get too comfortable.
Last night, after a few trolls by some supposed Bitcoin millionaires, I post this.
http://www.reddit.com/dogecoin/comments/20yv99/anyone_else_disagree_with_eric_nakagawa_pitching/cg828jr
Well, I posted that in frustration at the "lol, dogecoin, more like dogsh*tcoin" comments I was getting that night. Turned off my miners, went to sleep.
Got up in the morning, EXPECTING an inbox full of nastygrams from the big btc-e trollbox type swingin' dicks.
But no.
-I don't even KNOW how many positive comments. -Tips (goes without saying I guess) -I got f'ing gilded.
... I just stared at the screen for a while. Trying to comprehend it. Because really I was expecting the worst. I STILL don't know how to respond in there, because I feel like a thank you would come off as cheap. What it did is it changed my week, probably my month.
Bitcoin forums never did that.
So why am I still a "depreshibe"? Well, depression is complex, and I've got a handful of things going on to say the least that are sort of working against me there. But, my biggest concern now is this:
...Losing this community, which REALLY IS amazing, and ABSOLUTELY goes against the grain of the 'internet indifferent bad-ass tough-guy', and helps people do good and feel good.
Why? Because Dogecoin may actually disappear if these (admittedly POWERFUL) types who have so much derision for Dogecoin make it worthless. (You know, to the point of being delisted everywhere and a near zero network hash rate...)
I never thought that a 'bright' and 'positive' community would be linked to numbers and hash rate, but I'm afraid it is.
I do NOT understand why these "bitcoin bullies" (I AM NOT saying all bitcoiners are like this, I was an early bitcoiner) MUST go into /dogecoin and MAKE SURE that they stop people from feeling good about Doge.
It's not like we want to hurt them. When their ship rises, so does everyone else's. Why are they so big on kicking us in the face?
If we as shibes are so "insignificant" and "About to die", why are they so intent on making sure we all know it?
This is one of the FEW communities on the internet that doesn't seem to be based on brinksmanship and assholery. I don't want it to die under the boot of a few early adopters who had everything go just right and are now bitcoin millionaires.
Even if Doge never makes it to the moon, the hope and positivity of 70,000 shibes looking up at it going "someday, someday" - that's something you just do not see online anymore.
So, that's why I'm a depreshibe. I wish they'd leave us alone, even if we are fools with our play money. I don't understand the joy some people get at seeing others (who have done nothing to hurt anyone else) put down just for the sake of it.
TL;DR I know, but I've never been too good at brevity. And I still have to brave going out there in /dogecoin and composing a real heartfelt thanks for all the shibes for really helping today... but here's hoping I don't get trolled for this post.

Help for a first timer

This is my first time attempting to buy from silk road and I need some help.
Basically, I've been going through using forums and the like trying to work out how to do everything. It was all going fairly smoothly until now. I have bought bitcoins, I have mixed them on a website called 'Bitcoin Fog Company', but I tried to transfer them to my Silk Road account and they still have not come through.
I attempted to deposit them to my Silk Road account at 2am on Wednesday night. Bitcoin Fog Company said that it would do the transaction over 6 hours, and I have seen that Silk Road sometimes takes up to 24 hours for the bitcoins to come through. However, it has now been 60 hours and I am starting to get worried that I have lost my money.
Any helpful advice or possible solutions? Thanks
Edit: My problem has been solved, thanks very much creeture124 for your help!

BitcoinFog confirmed hacked - no announcement - DO NOT DEPOSIT COINS!

A couple of months ago I posted this thread.
Since then, I have been able to acquire a few of the usernames related to certain password hashes that have been cracked. All of these accounts have had large deposits in the past - which means the hackers were going after accounts with possible high balances. Furthermore, since then I have spoken with numerous people who claim to have dumps of the database and all of the details seem to match up, which means that the database dump is being traded around. The user I mentioned in my OP has raised the price of some of the password hashes to 10 BTC each. I wonder why they're so valuable to him? cough
If you don't believe me, here's some screenshots of me logged into several accounts which all seem to have made high-value deposits in the past (note: passwords might have been changed since I took images; feel free to try them yourself though), and all of which have had their password hashes posted on the forum thread in my earlier post -

No announcement has been made on BitcoinFog's behalf. It has been months since these hashes have been posted. They obviously don't care about customer's funds. I wouldn't trust them if I were you.

Be careful with Bitcoin Fog

Me and many other users on the forums are currently experiencing delays and difficulties seeing BTC transferred through Bitcoin Fog. I would recommend laying off of Bitcoin Fog until the issues are sorted out

How I got conned out of $2400(all the money I had in the world – save 0.25 BTC)

How I got conned out of $2400(all the money I had in the world -– save 0.25 BTC)
After spending about a month thoroughly investigating Bitcoin -- watching the markets, reading up on the technical details, its history and potential, getting to grips with security etc(I set up 3 backups stored in different locations and an offline wallet on a fresh Debian install – all encrypted with ultra-long passwords) – I was ready and raring to invest.
I tentatively bought into my first 0.25 BTC at £235/BTC on ‘localbitcoins.com’, somewhat unsure as to whether the price was going to drop back down -- seeing as it had been at £80/BTC only a few weeks earlier -- only to see the price double over the next few days. I was going to buy now and hold, I was going to go all in, all I had to do was get verified with ‘OKPay’ and/or an exchange so I could get as many Bitcoins as possible with the money I had available to invest.
After 5 days wherein I had watched the price of Bitcoin soar again, now to £500, I was getting impatient waiting for verification, worried that the price was going to continue to surge and I was going to miss the (better) boat (I’m expecting we won’t be in danger of totally running out of metaphorical investment boats until we reach the region of $10,000+/BTC).
Outside of the exchanges and ‘OKPay’-ment, the Bitcoins available to me were in the region of 150% on the market price, so I was very receptive at this point to market-price offers from lone traders. Enter ‘Marcus SyajcMaa’. ‘Marcus’ came into my sights on the ‘Bitcoins’ open Facebook group -- when he responded to another individual who was inquiring about purchasing Bitcoins -- saying that he was looking to sell on 36BTC at $400/BTC(£250; market price: ~£310) “before the (anticipated) drop”. This was a vastly better deal than anything I had access to at the time (being unverified elsewhere), and I wasn’t too concerned about any potential drop as I had missed out on good deals before whilst waiting for the price to come back down, only for it to escalate further; besides, I wasn’t a day-trader, I was looking to hold for the long-term.
‘Marcus’ had invited prospective buyers to add him as a friend, and so I did.
Once on his friends list, I started up a conversation: Conversation Part 1) http://s5.postimg.org/fembnmq6v/Conversation_1.jpg Conversation Part 2) http://s5.postimg.org/qtiss92jb/Conversation_2.jpg
The group he added me to was ran by him, and it was populated with 109 accounts. Some of these accounts exchanged banter with ‘Marcus’ whilst others talked positively of past deals they’d done with him. Hindsight: Some others of these 109 accounts appear to have been genuine – people like me whom ‘Marcus’ was in the process of working. Others were most certainly either puppet accounts or accomplices. They weren’t obvious though… Like ‘Marcus’, they all spoke good English, had well-populated friends lists(including several mutual friends) as well as convincing personal details, timelines and public photo galleries. I took ‘Marcus’ up on his offer to go public with the trade.
At this point I realised ‘Marcus’ might have been wanting to sell his 36 BTC as one lot: Conversation Part 3) http://s5.postimg.org/7jbs8tgk7/Conversation_3.jpg
This is when things start going down hill for me. I became embarrassed that this guy thought I was looking to buy 36 BTC when all the money I had in the world would only be enough to buy 5 BTC(and I obviously wanted to keep some of that back, you know, to live on..). This put me into a psychological position of being somehow below ‘Marcus’ in standing, which reduced my ability to negotiate strongly with him. I was interested in taking advantage of the special offer for purchasing 5 BTC, but perhaps more drivingly I didn’t want to make it obvious that I was so poor relative to his expectations.

My negotiatory position was now further weakened as I found I was ‘competing’ with others for the purchase – he was in control, it didn’t matter to him if I purchased or not as he could just sell to someone else; I on the other hand had no comparable alternatives at that time(of course, in hindsight I should’ve just waited for verification). Hindsight: This was all an intentional part of the set-up, putting me in a weak bargaining position so that he could manipulate me as he wanted, a classic technique. Again to conceal my poverty, whilst I only reserved 4 BTC, I suggested I could possibly buy 5 - 10BTC(smh).

He starts to increase the pressure on me to complete the deal, saying that he has other buyers waiting and he wants to cancel the invoice. This further weakens my already shaky position.

I was trying to be hard and negotiate with him, but I felt at the same time that if I tried to negotiate without showing at the same time that I was progressing the deal I would lose it. This guy ran his own Bitcoin Facebook group with 109 members, he dealt in stacks of 36 BTC at a time. I was already taxing his valuable time by buying 5 BTC when he wanted to sell 36, I didn’t want it to get out that I wasted this guy’s time completely, no one would deal with me again!

“or”… This was not a question before: I was going to get his I.D., I was going to use an escrow, and I was going to get him to take a verification picture with a message written on paper to prove the I.D was his before I would close ANY deal. Now, not only could I not make a straight up demand: I couldn’t even ask a firm question like, “Can you send me your I.D. BEFORE I send you my fucking life savings on the word of someone I know nothing about,” without adding “or” to the end of it to show that I hade no commitment whatsoever to ensuring my wish was fulfilled. That’s psychological manipulation for you.

Again, he shows that he is in control, that he doesn’t need me, that I should be grateful that he is even dealing with me at all: that I have no bargaining power whatsoever. So, I cave and hit ‘close dispute’. I get an error, which in hindsight could’ve been a blessing in disguise had I not been so persistent…
“He seems desperate to refund me. Surely a scammer wouldn’t want to refund me my money!? Clearly he is a legitimate businessman who just wants to make the most money he can out of his hard-earned capital! He is doing me a favour by staying in the deal so long when he could’ve gone elsewhere. I don’t need to push my luck and waste any more of his time getting any pesky I.D., I am just being a nuisance, and everyone is going to find out. People, including ‘Marcus’, do this every day -- this is how Bitcoin trades work, everyone knows that! I can trust him.” Hindsight: this is further part of the con strategy: allow me to spend several hours working towards closing a deal calmly and carefully taking no risks, then start to pull it away from me so I lose my cool head and jump after it like a lemming.
Conversation Part 14) http://s5.postimg.org/42ebjl6vConversation_14.jpg
It worked, I was able to close the dispute… “HOORAY,” I thought...
Conversation Part 15) http://s5.postimg.org/do7vzvy1j/Conversation_15.jpg
As soon as I hit send on that last message his account and the group disappeared. I realised immediately that I had been conned: it was like the fog of deception suddenly lifted and everything was all so obvious -- I had been under the warlock’s spell. I found out later after posting in the ‘Bitcoins’ group about my experience that he had only blocked and banned me, and he had even tried to continue conning other people after he'd finished with me. After members of the ‘Bitcoins’ group had sufficiently spread word of his con, he did finally delete his account, but the group only became secret, meaning he is planning to use it again on other unsuspecting victims.
Here are links to screenshots of the invoice and transaction, as well as to some testimonies from other ‘Bitcoins’ group members who had encountered ‘Marcus’:
“What? He seemed on the level,” said one member.

So, it turned out the word was already out that he was a scammer, it just wasn’t sufficiently publicised. I would suggest that anyone running any Bitcoin forum or group who wants to help prevent people from being conned, makes a sticky thread or post with an URGENT – READ FIRST label containing details of known scams and scammers, and standard guidelines for transactions, so that newbies don’t go along with insecure 1-1 transactions (without escrow etc..) thinking that’s acceptable or the norm. It’s too easy for a skilful con artist to convince a newbie, with the help of bots, that he and is methods of transaction are legitimate and widely-accepted, respectively.
I had heard about the risks of selling BTC to people who are using PayPal or bank transfer, due to the risk of them withdrawing the funds after the BTC had been sent; I’d read up all about how to secure Bitcoins from hackers; and I was sufficiently well-read to be confident in the long-term viability of bitcoin, but I never once read anything about how to avoid scammers ‘selling’ bitcoin. So, having only read from the perspective of holders of Bitcoin(which makes sense, as the people who are going to be writing Bitcoin guides are most likely to be heavily invested), I was completely unprepared for being scammed in the reverse direction.
Conclusion/TL; DR:
Stay safe, beware of cons: 20 people vouching for a guy isn’t enough any more when people can bot perfectly convincing fake accounts and scam-pool with accomplices; be aware of fake escrow sites to come with bots vouching on review sites. I just hope some newbie Bitcoiners will see this post(as I saw and was motivated by the posts of people being hacked) and be more careful/prepared to encounter con-artists than I was. NEVER BUY BITCOINS WITHOUT ESCROW OR EQUIVALENT PROTECTION.
If there are any hackers out there who think they can track the guy down somehow with the information I’ve provided, though I expect this is unlikely, I give you my fullest blessing.
May your interactions be voluntary and your Bitcoins secure,
Miles(internet pseudonym).
Clarification: I don't have screenshots from the group because it was made secret as soon as I found out it was a con; and I can't charge-back PayPal because he got me to open up a dispute and then close it -- which seemed reasonable to me seeing as it makes it effectively the same as using OKpay etc, with which one cannot charge-back in the first place: charge-backs being the whole reason most BTC sellers don't accept PayPal...
